One underrated yet high ROI local SEO strategy in 2025 is building brand presence on social profiles.
Here’s what I mean:
Most local SEO strategies are built around:
Website content (service pages, blog content, etc.)
Backlinks (citation, NAP, Press, editorial) and internal links (crawl depth)
Technical SEO (architecture, crawling and indexation issues)
There might be many more elements in an SEO strategy, but these are the three core elements.
But the missing link in 2025 is— building a strong brand presence on social media profiles.
Let me explain.
Below, I am attaching some SERP screenshots (page 1) for some local queries:

Search query is ‘security services in Bhubaneswar’
Example 2:
Search query is ‘Digital marketing course in Mumbai
Example 3:
Search query is ‘Fashion design course in Kolkata’
If you notice, there is a SERP trend— Google is promoting more and more social media profiles and their posts (text or video).
Now, what it means for SEO:
If you really want to capture more SERP real estate, you should focus on optimizing your social media profiles, creating frequent content, and publishing short-format videos on these channels.
If you already have an active YouTube channel, then start repurposing your content on these major social media platforms.
Take another example to understand the real benefits:
When I search for ‘home cleaning services in Nagpur’, one brand is ranking in a total of three positions on the first page.
First, the brand is ranking in local map:
Second, their Facebook video is also ranking on the first page:
Third, their homepage is also ranking for the same keyword:
In fact, I’ve seen similar types of search results on competitive local search queries— maybe a way for Google to diversify the SERP and match user intent.
If you’re a local business looking to rank for regional keywords, take this as a starting point to cover more SERP real estate.
The more number of times your brand shows up in search, the higher the conversions.
Action items
Create all the social media profiles (if you haven’t already)
Optimize each profile with keyword-rich descriptions, images, etc.
Plan a video strategy by creating a dedicated video for each service+location page. Distribute the video on YouTube and all other social media platforms with a keyword-optimized description.
Repurpose your blog content on all social media platforms— look for automation solutions.
Get more engagement on your profiles by creating actual helpful content on social media handles.
